Truck-Driver Charged for Sex Crimes in Shelbyville

On January 10, 2025, Shelbyville Police Detectives arrested Edward Charles Cress, an over-the-road truck driver from Kearney, Nebraska, after a six-month investigation. Cress altered his truck routes to meet a 12-year-old female for sexual purposes and distributed multiple images and videos of child pornography.
He faces charges of Solicitation of a Minor, Attempted Rape of a Child, and two counts of Aggravated Exploitation of a Minor. Cress is currently held at Bedford County Corrections on a $500,000 bond.
