Tough Night for Franklin County Rebelettes Against Lawrence County Lady Cats

It was a rough outing for the Franklin County Rebelettes on Tuesday, as they fell 13-2 to the Lawrence County Lady Cats.
Lawrence County got going early, putting up five runs in the first inning. Gisselle Maldonado knocked in the first with a single, then Reagan Frakes hit into a fielder’s choice that brought in another. A fielding error allowed one more to score, and Callie Brown drove in two with a double to cap the inning.
In the second, Elizabeth Hagan launched a solo shot to center, and Brown added another RBI with a single down the line.
The third inning was the big one—Lawrence County added six more runs on five hits. A Rebelettes error started it off, followed by RBI singles from Frakes, Sublett, and Brown. Laney Kate King came through with a two-run single to finish the scoring for the inning.
Dalayna Marshall started in the circle for Franklin County, pitching two innings and allowing seven hits and seven runs—five of them earned. She walked two. Hagan got the start for Lawrence County and threw four and a third innings, giving up just three hits and two runs (one earned), with six strikeouts and one walk.
Offensively, Franklin County had a quiet night. Mollye Casey, Kaitlyn Montgomery, and Victoria Nelson each had a hit. Alex Hand brought in the only run with an RBI.
Lawrence County finished with 13 hits. Brown had a huge night, going 3-for-3 with four RBIs. Sublett also had three hits, and Frakes added two more in four at-bats.
The Rebelettes are back in action Thursday with a road game against Marshall County.
