FRANKLIN COUNTY, Tenn. – Monday marks an important day for students across Franklin County as state testing officially begins. The Tennessee Comprehensive Assessment Program (TCAP), a key benchmark in academic progress, will be administered to students throughout the district in grades 3-8.

In preparation for the big day, Franklin County Schools issued a reminder to both parents and students, highlighting the importance of being physically and mentally prepared.

Parents are encouraged to help their children succeed by:

  • Making sure they get a full night’s sleep

  • Ensuring students arrive at school on time

  • Providing a healthy breakfast to start the day

The district also shared a motivational message aimed at students, quoting Dr. Seuss:“You’ve got brains in your head. You’ve got feet in your shoes. You can steer yourself any direction you choose.”

This quote serves as a reminder that students are in control of their own success and are fully capable of meeting the challenges ahead.

TCAP testing plays a crucial role in measuring students' understanding of the state curriculum and helps schools tailor their instruction to meet the needs of each student.

Franklin County Schools encourages families to support their students by creating a calm and positive environment at home during testing days.
