Ruth Lee Winton Whiteaker of Manchester, Tennessee passed from this life on Monday, March 31, 2025, at Alive Hospice in Murfreesboro, Tennessee at the age of 95 years.


A native of Maryville, Tennessee, she is the daughter of the late Horace and Bessie Morton Moore. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Hollis Winton in 1991. She later remarried and was preceded in death by her second husband, Lawrence Fredrick Whiteaker in 2007. Ruth was also preceded in death by nine siblings.


Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 5, 2025, at 12:00 PM from the Chapel of Daves-Culbertson Funeral Home in Tullahoma, Tennessee with Steve Winton officiating. Friends may visit with the family on Saturday at the funeral home from 11:30 AM until the time of service. Burial will follow at Mt. Pleasant cemetery in Hillsboro, Tennessee.


Ruth was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother. She loved her family and spending as much time with them as possible. She loved cooking and was wonderful at it. She enjoyed cooking for others and watching them enjoy the fruit of her labor.


Her survivors include two children, George Thomas (Susan) Winton of Manchester, Tennessee, Charles Barry Winton of Manchester, Tennessee and two sisters, Patsy and Marcella, four grandchildren, Chad Winton, Justin (Tara) Winton, Steven (Lisa) Winton, John Winton, six great grandchildren, Max Winton, Margaret Winton, Laura Winton, Luke Winton, Levi Winton and Abram Winton.
