This press release informs Warren County's citizens and surrounding areas of a recent homicide. Chris Stanford, Warren County District Attorney has recently taken over the investigation of the person charged with Criminal Homicide of Amber Wilson (DOB 02-02-1982) in Warren County, Tennessee. The alleged homicide occurred between the late hours of January 17 and the early morning hours of January 18, 2025, in Warren County, Tennessee, based on currently available information from partner law enforcement agencies. Associated charges of Tampering with Evidence (Tenn. Code Ann. § 39-16-503) and Abuse of a Corpse (Tenn. Code Ann. § 39-17-312) are also pending against the alleged perpetrator, Nathan Allen Wilson, in Warren County, Tennessee, as charged Tuesday. Nathan Allen Wilson is under a $150,000.00 bail set by the General Sessions Court of Fentress County, Tennessee for the lone charge of Abuse of a Corpse currently pending there. This charge is expected to be dismissed in the near future based on Nathan Allen Wilson's current pending charges in Warren County.

At this time, Nathan Allen Wilson is awaiting transport to Warren County, Tennessee, to conclude his prosecution in this matter. As such, I want to assure the public that we are not in immediate or anticipated danger from Nathan Allen Wilson because he is expected to remain incarcerated continually as he makes his way back to Warren County unless he is able to make bond in the future, after his bond is set here.

Once Nathan Allen Wilson is transported back to the Warren County Sheriff's Department, our Supervising Judicial Commissioner for Warren County, Tennessee, David Williams, has determined that Defendant Wilson will be held without bail until Judge Ryan J. Moore has an opportunity to consider the statutory bond factors at a future court hearing. The State will seek appropriate bond conditions and the highest bail amount possible under the law and facts of this case when the matter is submitted for Judge Moore's final decision. Judge Moore will approve or alter the State's requested bail amount at the conclusion of the bail hearing.

The preliminary facts of the investigation into this matter come primarily from the work of the Fentress County Sheriff's Department and the Tennessee Bureau of Investigations. Based on the evidence obtained by my office so far, it appears that on January 18, 2025, Fentress County Sheriff's Detective, Jerry Mifflin, responded to 2875 Banner Springs Road, Jamestown, Tennessee in reference to a 911 call made by Joseph Wilson, regarding Joseph Wilson's brother, and the Defendant in the Warren County criminal charges, Nathan Allen Wilson, making self-harm statements.

Fentress County Deputy Richard Pedigo also responded with Det. Mifflin and discovered the body of Nathan Allen Wilson's wife, Amber Wilson, deceased in the rear area of a Jeep Renegade. During the investigation by the Fentress County Sheriff's Department and TBI, Nathan Allen Wilson admitted to hitting Amber Wilson with a vehicle. Nathan Allen Wilson further admitted that the incident occurred either in the late-night hours of January 17th or the early-morning hours of January 18, 2025, in McMinnville, Warren County, Tennessee. Upon further investigation, it was also revealed that Nathan Allen Wilson further stated to another third party not associated with law enforcement that he hit Amber Wilson with a vehicle.

According to an autopsy that was performed on Amber Wilson, Ms. Wilson died of blunt force trauma consistent with being struck by a motor vehicle. The vehicle used by Nathan Allen Wilson to kill his wife, Amber Wilson, was determined to be a damaged 2013 Ford Explorer. However, the body of Amber Wilson was later found by Fentress County Sheriff's Department deputies deceased in a Jeep Renegade, believed to be previously driven by Nathan Allen Wilson, to the location where it was found by law enforcement personnel.

The events constituting probable cause of the criminal conduct Nathan Allen Wilson is charged with in Warren County, to wit: Criminal Homicide, Tampering with Evidence and Abuse of a Corpse, as outlined herein began and largely occurred in Warren County, Tennessee. Thus, my office has assumed further investigation and prosecution of the criminal conduct by Nathan Allen Wilson, as more fully detailed hereinabove.

I want to thank the Fentress County Sheriff's Department, the TBI and District Attorney General – 8th Judicial District of Tennessee, Jared Effler, for their cooperation in ensuring that the transfer of the investigation and prosecution of this matter to our Judicial District will continue to be flawless and effective. More details, and those not currently available to the public-at-large, surrounding this prosecution, will be revealed through the legal process going forward.

My prayers and condolences, and those of our law enforcement team, are with the family and friends of Amber Wilson during this time of tragic and senseless loss. Our prayer is that God's peace and love may comfort all who are and have been affected by this tragedy, in the days ahead. I also pledge to continue my fight, alongside my partners in law enforcement, in our struggle against the criminal elements running rampant today in our society. Thank you.
