Mary Ann Stratton, age 90 of Decherd, passed away on Sunday, April 13, 2025, at Elk River Health and Nursing Center. A native of Franklin County, she was born on April 10, 1935, to the late Gordon and Lila (Green) Pogue. Before her retirement, Mary Ann owned and operated a day care center in Huntland from 1986-2002, where her motherly nature combined with her caring and kind heart nurtured many children. An avid gardener, she had a green thumb when it came to her flower and vegetable gardens. When she was able, she enjoyed going to the lake and the beach. But most of all, Mary Ann cherished the time spent with her family, especially her grandchildren. A devoted Christian, she was very active in Huntland First Baptist and Donaldson Grove Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jimmy Stratton; daughter, Michelle Nichole Star Stratton; and brother, Ray Pogue. Mary Ann is survived by her loving daughter with Jimmy, Mary Beth Stratton; daughters, Angie Marie (Joaquin) Ambrocio Garcia, and Debbie Jean (Adrian) Hickerson, and Patsy Stratton; grandchildren, Diego, Analeiah, Riley, Lorena, Adrianna, Gracelyn, Liam, Braxton, and Aiden; sister, Patricia Flewelling; niece, Tami Flewelling; nephews, Casey Pogue, Clay Pogue, and Michael Flewelling; and several great nieces and great nephews. Visitation will be from 5-8pm on Thursday, April 17, 2025, at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, April 18, 2025, in the Chapel of Moore-Cortner Funeral Home with Bro. Mike Robinson officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Carmel Cemetery.
