James R. Pickett

James R. Pickett, age 74 of Woodbury, passed away on Sunday, April 6, 2025, at his home, surrounded by his family and friends. Born in Franklin County, he was the son of the late Zachariah and Ruby Pickett. James was a veteran of the United States Army. He attended Grace Christian Fellowship Church for many years. In his spare time, he enjoyed being outdoors, especially fishing, and cherished the time spent with family and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Edward Pickett and David Pickett; and sisters, Martha Ferrell and Linda Chandler. James is survived by his children, Lisa Pickett, Teresa Pickett, and Jamie Pickett; six grandchildren; siblings, Dorothy Flannery of Scottsboro, Alabama, Donna Leath of Woodbury, and Donnie Pickett of Lynchburg; a host of nieces and nephews; special friends, Mervin Troyer; and caregivers, Madi Leath, Pam Lowkey, and Christina. Visitation will be from 3-7pm on Tuesday, April 8, 2025, at Watson Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, April 9,2025, at the Grace Fellowship Church in Woodbury.
