JAMES L. RUSSELL

JAMES "JIM" L. RUSSELL, age 77, of Estill Springs, Tenn., departed this life on Monday, April 7, 2024, at his residence following an extended illness.  Mr. Russell was born in Winchester, Tenn., to the late Hugh L. Russell and Oca Mae Norris Russell on July 31, 1947.  Mr. Russell last attended the Cowan First Baptist Church.  He was veteran of the United States Air Force and served his country during the Vietnam War.  Mr. Russell was a retired insurance agent for approximately 35 years and was employed by several different agencies in the area.  He could often be found reading his Bible.  He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and will be missed by his loving family. 

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 52 years, Joy Robbins Russell, brothers; Joe, Richard and Pat Russell and a sister, Marilyn Russell. 

He is survived by his son, Scott Russell and wife, Ronda, Grandsons:  Phillip, Patrick and Richard Russell all of Estill Springs, 6-great-grandchildren, and one brother, "Stuffie" Russell and wife, Shirley of Estill Springs.

It was Mr. Russell's wish that he be cremated and no services are scheduled at this time.    Grant Funeral Services in Charge of Arrangements
