The Huntland Lady Hornets couldn’t get much going Thursday night, dropping a 6-0 game to the Eagleville Lady Eagles.
Eagleville got on the board in the first inning with a sac bunt from Ellie Nguyen that brought in a run. They added two more in the third—one on a triple by Brinli Bain and another off a passed ball.
Addisyn Linton picked up the win for Eagleville, throwing one inning with two strikeouts and no hits allowed. Kinah Mason went the distance for Huntland, giving up six runs—only one earned—on three hits, striking out three with no walks. Madison Davenport came in and closed it out for the Lady Eagles.
Huntland had a few bright spots at the plate, drawing five walks total. Catara Johnson led the way with two.
Bain and Nguyen each drove in two runs for Eagleville, and their defense was clean all night, not committing a single error. Rylee Warbritton handled the most chances in the field with nine.
The Lady Hornets will look to bounce back on Tuesday when they take on Cornersville.
