Franklin County Rebelettes Secure Walk-Off Victory Over Marshall County

In a dramatic finish on Monday, the Franklin County Rebelettes emerged victorious with a 10-9 walk-off win against Marshall County. With the score tied in the bottom of the seventh inning, Alex Hand delivered the game-winning RBI single to secure the victory.
Both teams displayed impressive offensive performances, with Franklin County recording 11 hits and Marshall County collecting 10.
Franklin County took an early lead in the first inning when Kyleigh Decamp earned a walk, followed by Hand’s RBI single down the left field line. However, Marshall County responded in the third inning, capitalizing on an RBI single from Anna Stewart, a sacrifice fly by Brynlee Walls, and a run-scoring hit by Carlee Cole to take the lead.
The Rebelettes regained the advantage in the fourth inning after a defensive error allowed them to go up 4-3. Marshall County quickly responded in the fifth, tying the game with a double to center field by Zakiya Taylor.
Franklin County surged ahead in the bottom of the fifth, scoring four runs courtesy of a two-run double from Victoria Nelson, an RBI single by Madi Morris, and a defensive miscue that brought in another run. However, Marshall County fought back in the sixth, evening the score after Brookelyn Nunley’s triple and Taylor’s groundout brought in key runs.

A sacrifice fly from Kaitlyn Montgomery in the bottom of the sixth briefly put Franklin County ahead, but Marshall County answered once again in the seventh to tie the game. In the final inning, Hand stepped up and delivered the decisive hit to clinch the walk-off victory.
Franklin County’s starting pitcher, Kaylee Morris, allowed nine hits and eight runs—four of them earned—over five innings, striking out two batters. Dalayna Marshall entered in relief to close out the game.
Offensively, Morris and Hand led Franklin County with three hits each, while Hand and Nelson each drove in two runs. The Rebelettes demonstrated patience at the plate, drawing seven walks, with Decamp, Montgomery, and Paislie Edge each earning two. The team also stole four bases and executed a double play.
For Marshall County, Nunley led the team with three RBIs from the ninth spot in the lineup, while Taylor and Cole each contributed two hits. Marshall County was also aggressive on the base paths, recording four stolen bases.
Franklin County will look to build on this victory as they prepare to face Tullahoma on Tuesday.
