Franklin County Man Charged with Elder Abuse and More

On Friday (1/10/2025), Franklin County deputies were dispatched to 602 Old Mansford Road in reference to a welfare check.
Dispatch advised that a male subject called and said that a friend of his named Wesley Wright told him that he got in an altercation with a male elderly family member the night prior and stated he almost beat the man to death.
Franklin County deputies located the man, and he had multiple visible injuries on his face/head.
The man had crusted blood and a laceration on the left side of his head, crusted blood around his mouth, chin, and what appeared to be an open wound. His chin was red and bruised. The right side of his face was swollen and bruised. His upper lip was swollen and bruised. When asked how he obtained the injuries, he said he and Wright got into a verbal altercation about his ex-girlfriend, and Wright began punching him in the face. The man was transported to STRMC for treatment.
Wesley left the residence after the assault and, called dispatch and said things that did not make sense. Wright did not disclose any information about the assault that had just occurred.
Deputy Kyle King contacted Wright via phone, advising him he needed to speak to him. Deputies arrived at the Winchester Inn and Wright was placed into custody. While he was in custody, he was charged with Aggravated Assault, Domestic Assault, and Willful Abuse, Neglect, or Exploitation of an Elderly Adult.
