Franklin County High School proudly celebrated a significant milestone on Friday afternoon in the school library as senior Catherine Money officially signed her letter of intent to continue her academic and athletic career at Maryville College. Catherine will compete in both Cross Country and Track & Field for the Scots.

Surrounded by an outpouring of love and support, Catherine was joined at the signing ceremony by her family—William Money, Tommy Money, Shannon Money, Lella Godfrey, Lauren Godfrey, Cherry Amacher, Vicki Boyer, Joe Boyer, and Cindy Arnold—as well as her teammates from the Franklin County Cross Country and Track & Field programs. The event served as a tribute to her years of dedication, perseverance, and achievement as a standout student-athlete.

Coach Jason Woodall, head coach of Franklin County Cross Country, shared high praise for Catherine and her unwavering commitment throughout her high school career.

“Catherine is a Super Special Runner that we have had for over 4 years now, and has put alot of hard work over that time, consistency is always been the name of the game for us and she is the epidemy of that, working hard each and every day to achieve her goals. She will be a leader from day 1 at Maryville outside of sports for who she is.”

Catherine shared that running in college wasn’t something she had initially planned, but her connection with Maryville College changed that perspective:

'I hasn’t thought about running for college until Maryville reached out to me specifically, and the atmosphere of a small school with everyone being close, with alot of places to run around campus, including woods.'

Catherine's growth as an athlete and a leader over the past four years has made her a standout at Franklin County High School. Her next chapter at Maryville is sure to bring continued success, both on and off the course.

Best of luck, Catherine, in your future endeavors! All of Franklin County is behind you and proud of all you’ve accomplished.
