March 24, 1964  -  January 11, 2025

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Donnie Wayne Long, a 60 year-old twin brother, uncle, and friend to those who knew him most. He passed in his hometown of Franklin County, Tennessee on January 11th, 2025, and went on to meet his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Donnie was born on March 24th, 1964, in Winchester, Tennessee, and is preceded in death by his mother: Sandra Roggli Long Bean and father Harold Douglas Long.

Donnie found his calling in the concrete construction industry. He did not simply lay a foundation for structures, but also laid the foundation for hard work, grit, and determination. His hands may have been weathered by the years of labor, but his heart was always soft and filled with kindness.

Outside of work, Donnie found his greatest joy in the company of loved ones and friends. Whether cooking a barbeque in the backyard or watching a Tennessee Volunteers game, playing a leisurely game of pool, or enjoying quiet evenings, his warmth and humor created a sense of home wherever he went. Friends were treated like family, and his circle of loved ones stretched far and wide. Donnie was also lovingly known as a free-spirit, who found joy in every moment of life. He believed that happiness was not just a destination but something to have everyday in the simple pleasures of life.

Donnie is survived by his twin brother Ronnie Long and wife (Djuana), his nephews Derrick Long Baker and wife (Jennifer), Brooks Long, Austin Long and wife (Jocelyn), Cameron Long and significant other (Jade West), and great-nephew Parker Long and is survived by many cousins and extended family members.

Donnie’s life will be celebrated on Wednesday, January 15, 2025, at 1:00pm at Watson Funeral Home in Winchester, Tennessee with Bro. Ray Gardner, officiating. Donnie’s final resting place will be at Green Cemetery in Belvidere, Tennessee with David Amonette, Eddie Jones, Ray Winger, Jody Miller, Tracy Hayworth and Johnny Bruce all serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Robbie Clark , Danny George, and Steve Medley

Though he laid down his tools for the final time, the foundation he built and memories he shared with us will remain in the hearts of those closest to him. Rest in peace, Donnie. You will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.

“A strong foundation is built with love and care—and that is what he gave to all of us”
