Body of Missing Grundy County Man Located

Sunday morning, the Grundy County Sheriff’s Office recovered human remains in a wooded area of Fiery Gizzard Recreation Area inside the South Cumberland State Park.
The remains have been positively identified as those of Tyler Curtis, a resident of Tracy City who was reported missing in late February.
This remains an active investigation. While foul play is not currently suspected, it has not been ruled out definitively.
The Grundy County Sheriff’s Office extends its deepest condolences to the Curtis family during this challenging time.
The Grundy County Sheriff’s Office would like to express its sincere gratitude to the Grundy County Medical Examiner’s Office, all Fire and Rescue agencies within Grundy County, Sewanee Fire and Rescue, the Grundy County EMA, Constable Kyle Collins, Constable Chris Boyd, and every volunteer who participated in the search and recovery efforts.
