On March 29, 2025, the Grundy County Sheriff’s Office was contacted by Fire Chief Jared Meeks regarding a suspicious fire at Palmer Market in Palmer, Tennessee.

A coordinated investigation was launched immediately by Patrol Deputies, the Criminal Investigation Division, and Constable Kyle Collins. Through this joint effort, the suspect was identified as Nicholas Callahan.

The man arrived at the store on a bicycle, allegedly setting the store on fire during business hours while customers were inside the store. He then fled the area on his bike. Callahan had previously been trespassed from the store.
